The IJzermonding nature reserve is a former naval port on the right bank of the IJzer. The concrete paths are still reminiscent of the military past. The viewing huts with a view of the Yser estuary make us believe that the bird population is doing well here.

Today, you can find various monuments and memorials along the IJzer that commemorate this period, such as the IJzer monument at the Ganzepoot.
