Langres is a lovely fortified town with impressive defensive walls and a number of gates. On a blue sky day the views would be stunning.

Langres, the city of art and history, rises majestically on a plateau overlooking the surrounding countryside. It combines the heritage of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Classicism and is therefore one of the fifty most beautiful cities in France.
A walk on the well-preserved 3.5 km long city wall with its seven gates and twelve towers offers many beautiful panoramic views.
The imposing and powerful Navarre Tower, with a diameter of 28 m and a height of 20 m and whose walls are up to 7 m thick, houses two vaulted rooms converted into bunkers and a beautiful chestnut roof. It is open to visitors.
A tour of the birthplace of Diderot leads through old streets with elegant stately town houses.
The Romanesque-Gothic Saint-Mammès Cathedral from the 12th to 18th centuries and its cloister are impressive.
We always stay at "Camping Navarre", 9 Bd du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny, 52200 Langres, France with our mobile home.
It is located within the city walls, right next to the Tower of Navarre with a fantastic view.
