Located directly on the Ilmenau, a spa park of around 12 hectares surrounds the spa center. It was not planned and designed as an artificial park from the outset, but grew organically and is largely designed to be close to nature. The extensive green area with its old trees connects the old town in the west with the spa district and merges into the floodplain landscape along the Ilmenau.
