About Tandemtouristen Stefan & Marco

125 years of life on one bike. Now we no longer hunt for kilometers but for other top performances.

After we had started in the late morning, our goal for the first day was Staufenberg.
Not along the Lahn but over the mountain and through the valley. Coming from the Wörsbach valley we followed the Emsbach from Niederbruch to Oberbruch. Then it went to Wolfenhausen along the Laubusbach. After we climbed the first hill we went to the valley of the Weil. To get to the next valley of the Solms we had to get the second hill behind us. We also left this valley again to master the third long ascent for the first day of travel.
Now it was in the direction of Giessen and thus in the valley of the Lahn. To say it in advance, we only saw the Lahn on day two.
Driving through Giessen is not a cyclist's dream.
Behind Lollar, below the village of Staufenberg, we reached a special kind of gem. Which one would actually not recommend, in order not to lose its exclusivity for the next visit. It was waiting for us at Kirchberg below Staufenberg.
We stopped one and a half kilometers from our destination to take a break in "Inges Hof". Then it was the really last steep climb of the day up to the hotel.
An extraordinary location combined with a rustic ambience. A dinner on the terrace, weather permitting, including the sunset, is priceless. Although this is certainly part of the price in the menu, the food on offer is still worth every penny. Everything went well during our stay. We found our room as one would expect in terms of cleanliness. In addition, it was quiet at night or it was the kilometers cycled, so I slept like a rock. Our tandem with its trailer also found a parking space.
It is obvious that a spiral staircase would cause problems for a guest with a physical disability, and to deduce an obligation for a renovation from this would certainly be excessive. The operators of the property can certainly not be held responsible for the construction errors of yesterday's clients.
After all, the pyramids don't have an elevator and the Eiffel Tower doesn't have a wheelchair ramp.
I think it's a shame that a large number of visitors only find their way here by car. So the beautiful area can be parked very quickly. All other guests then drive up the mountain for free through the narrow streets.
Unfortunately also down again. "and does the fuel cost 5Mark10 sch ... it doesn't matter, it'll work."
And finally, we currently have Corona and not CO2!
My blind and lame companion came up here with the tandem. Despite his 70 years of age, although he cannot see the backdrop, he struggled to reach this point.
Now he is happy to have sat nicely, because I was able to assure him of the beautiful view.
      We really deserve dinner.

Since I had an appointment in Limburg, we got on the train in Aumenau.
Unfortunately it was not otherwise possible to be at the LH before 4:00 p.m. in order to have the travel check carried out on the tandem.
      Brakes, gears, spokes, etc.
Well Aumenau - Limburg is not so exciting anymore.
