The San Basilio neighborhood is one of the oldest in the city of Córdoba, it is currently known as the Barrio de los Patios Cordobeses but this was not always the case. The neighborhood of San Basilio, also known as the Old Alcazar, was planned in 1399 to give shelter to the crossbowmen who defended the Royal Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs built on the banks of the river.

Small streets that are decorated with many flowers today. A separate competition promotes the beautiful design of the patios / courtyards. Every year, other patios in private homes are on their own Ruta de Patios to visit.

The Bodega de San Basilio is a down-to-earth cozy place where we ate well. It also seems to be very popular with the local people.
