Heike went for a hike.

We start our final hike at the end of the Durlaßboden reservoir at the Finkau Inn. There's also a large paid parking lot for hikers. We head into the Wildgerlostal valley and hike uphill along the wildly romantic Leitenkammerklamm gorge to the Trisslalm. The onset of rain slows us down again... so we

From the top station of the Königsleitener Gipfelbahn cable car (2305 m elevation), it's not far to the summit cross of the Königsleitener Spitze (2315 m). A quick photo, then a quick descent from the summit, and we continue our hike, first through a cow pasture, then a steep climb to the Falschriedel

The Krimmer Waterfalls, with their 380 m drop, are known as the largest waterfalls in Europe. We reach them via the Gerlos Pass (toll road). From the waterfall center, a well-paved path winds uphill to the top of the falls. Along the way, you can observe this natural spectacle up close from several viewing

Our destination today is the Schlegeis Reservoir, a reservoir at an altitude of 1,780 m, which can be reached by car via Mayrhofen and Ginzling, and finally via a toll road. Upon approach, the imposing 131 m high and 750 m long dam looms before us like a giant wall. We drive to the third parking lot

Today's hike begins again in Gerlos/Oberhof. The first "obstacle" is the village cows; we watch the cars slaloming around the four-legged friends. The Gerlosbach stream accompanies us for a short stretch until we turn left into the Krummbachtal valley. The first 200 meters of elevation gain are relatively

In glorious sunshine, we hop on our bikes and cycle from Gerlos-Oberhof to the Durlaßboden reservoir. This reservoir can be circumnavigated by bike in one direction. There are several huts for refreshments; we opt for the Bärschlagalm. On the way back, we make a detour to Königsleiten, visit the little
