About Alnobbi

Stage 2 on our way from Schleswig to Garmisch. The weather meant us well again. 30 degrees, no rain. The streets and paths were varied again. Overall very good because there is little or no traffic. The highlights for me today: Bad Segeberg and Lauenburg (old town !!!) at the places. On the routes: the former railway line from Bad Oldesloe to Trittau and the Elbe cycle path to Lauenburg, directly along the banks of the Elbe.

For me, Schleswig-Holstein is new to cycling. I had high expectations from an earlier visit by car in Kiel. These were surpassed on this very varied bike tour: the historic centers of Schleswig and Eckernförde deserved a lot more time than we had for it. The bike paths, especially the trails, led through charming forest and agricultural areas or along the water. All in all, I really enjoyed this tour and with it the first part of our Germany tour.

I expected a lot from the Leitzach. It met all expectations. Immediately after Bayrischzell it is already a pretty mighty mountain stream, which becomes significantly wider and more current-flowing up to the mouth of the Mangfall near Westerham. What I liked best was that you can cycle along one side or the other almost all the time. From old narrow tarmac roads to the single trail, everything is included, but almost always easy to drive and scenic and varied.
      Have fun!

The lake terrace was originally just a fish pond. Hobby anglers can catch a few trout there for a day for a daily fee without a fishing license and then take them home for consumption. The good thing about this model: if you don't catch anything, you still get four trout. So lunch or supper is safe.
Today it is a really good restaurant with a very nice terrace and a view of the Wilder Kaiser.
You can also see how people catch their trout (or not) ...
      Have fun :-)

It was actually mainly about a lot of water: along Schwillach, Sempt, Isar Canal and reservoir.
But the sunflower fields almost stole the show from the streams and rivers ...
The cozy lunch in the center of Erding is also very nice.
      Have fun!

On this route you usually drive away from normal traffic routes: without disturbing engine noise (and smell), quietly, in a beautiful landscape (e.g. over the Moosach, along the Attel) and still on easy-to-drive routes.
In Berganger there is a cozy beer garden, in Aßling and Kirchseeon good ice cream parlors.
      Have fun!

Who is going to Deinhofen, Ilching or Falkenberg?
In the first two places you can stay at the dreamy little ponds. At the pond in Deinhofen yesterday I could e.g. Watch tons of dragonflies.
And in Falkenberg there is a cozy beer garden with a great view.
      Have fun!

With this tour along the southeastern part of the reservoir, I now have the whole round completely. The most beautiful part - because you can drive right along the shore - is the northeastern part of Neufinsing to the dam that crosses the reservoir and the dam itself. The entire south side is beautiful to drive, scenic, but without a view of the reservoir. What I find the least attractive is the northwestern part from the dam to Ismaning. It is separated from the storage (restricted area) and rather boring.
There is a BMW restricted area at the northwestern end.
So: have fun with the large storage!
