    Cycling

It is always more pleasant to enter or leave the city through the Roman bridge, which is pedestrian, instead of doing it through the others sharing space with cars. Of course, here you coincide in the space with pedestrians, so you will have to dismount and enjoy the impressive landscape on the Guadalquivir on foot.

    Hiking

In addition to the Roman Bridge, it is also advisable to look around the bridge to understand a bit of the history. On one side the Torre de la Calahorra as a watchtower, on the other the bridge's gate, as a border to access the city. The walls next to the gate that surrounded Córdoba. And on both sides of the river the different mills with which to supply themselves with running water and use them to grind the cereals.

    Hiking

The complex of the Mosque-Cathedral, the river, the Puerta del Puente and the Roman Bridge of Córdoba itself, make up one of the most exquisite views of the city, even more so if you visit at sunset, at that uncertain time when the last sunbeams gild the surfaces.

    Camino Mozárabe and Guadalquivir Loop

If you're looking for a hiking route that combines the history of a pilgrimage with the beauty of a river landscape, the Camino Mozárabe and Guadalquivir Loop is a fantastic choice. This tour immerses you in Andalusian scenery, alternating sections of the ancient Camino Mozárabe with trails that border the Guadalquivir River. You'll be able to admire the Molino de Carbonell and enjoy views of the river, an experience that connects you with the region's past and nature.

This route, classified as difficult, covers 18.8 kilometers (11.7 miles) with an elevation gain of 216 meters (708 feet), which will take you approximately 5 hours and 2 minutes. For a more pleasant experience, I recommend avoiding the summer months due to the high temperatures in Andalusia. The winter months, early spring, or autumn are ideal for enjoying the milder weather and the tranquility of the trail. Be sure to carry enough water, as some sections may have little shade.

What makes this loop special is its ability to merge the essence of a historic pilgrimage route with the natural richness of the Guadalquivir River. You'll walk along paths that have been used for centuries, including sections of ancient Roman roads and medieval trails, such as the Paseo de los Caballos. It's a unique opportunity to explore the history of Spain while enjoying the serenity of its river landscapes, offering a different perspective from more crowded routes.
