The development of the "Uwe Seeler Football Park" and the football legend that gave it its name began almost at the same time. In 1952, the facility was built by the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association and was subsequently operated as the Malente Association Sports School. In 1953, "Uns Uwe" played for Hamburger SV for the first time in a league match at the age of just 17 - thanks to special permission from the DFB.
