About Thomas #Pille# K.

Hallo zusammen.

Nice tour. It was definitely exhausting in the weather. Greetings from the Ösis

It was again a very nice tour and a great day. As always, perfectly planned, thanks again for that. Despite the technical problems with komoot, you brought us back to the car. 😉👍🤗

The weather was right again, and so we had the Sauerland Cycle Ring on the plan. Why haven't I driven here for several years? 🤔
The entire route is approx. 85 km long and, with appropriate breaks, is a fantastic day tour.
Because of the journey, which is a bit difficult from EN, we started in Finnentrop Lenhausen, the closest point.
In a clockwise direction, it went back to Finnentrop via the cities of Eslohe, Bad Fredeburg, Schmallenberg and Lennestadt. Incidentally, also through "dog sauces" 😂🤣.
The cold "highlight" is the more than 600m long 🦇 bat tunnel🦇, which is closed in winter and which you have to bypass extensively.
In Bad Fredeburg, we recommend a detour via the city center with good rest stops. 🤪Attention entliche a decent incline!
Our next break was at Café Heimes cafe-heimes.de/stammhaus-baeckerei-konditorei-confiserie.html
      planned in Saalhausen. Try out!
Unfortunately, Komoot kicked me out of here, so I had to continue working with Part 2. 😉 👍

With a cloudy sky and 18 degrees, but without wind, we went back to the valley of the Ennepe today. From the parking lot of the outdoor pool "Platsch", where a couple of youngsters really enjoyed themselves on the slide, we went up to the left side of the Ennepe. The air was humid and cool so that it was easy to walk on narrow paths and stairs. The harvester has only been up to mischief in a few places.
At Peddenöde we went across the street to the Krenzer Hammer, foerderverein-krenzer-hammer.de, which is also open occasionally and does blacksmithing demonstrations.
Here I found out about the stone fly (Pecoptera) de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steinfliegen
pleased, which is a sure sign of first-class water quality. It is up to 5cm tall but completely harmless as an imago. The larvae live in the water under stones for several years and then hatch for a few days to mate. 👌 To the right around the building you come to the bridge over the Ennepe. 😉
Now it goes steeply uphill over narrow and overgrown paths. Many gorse grab the hiker and in dry weather 🌡 I would search myself for ticks in the evening! The path is shady and therefore damp and is accompanied by sphagnum moss.
Today, in addition to wild boar tracks, there were also numerous panther spanners (Pseudopanthera macularia), a 3cm small yellow spanner with brown spots, to be observed. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantherspanner 🙂 🦋
A beautiful varied tour where the water is your constant companion.

With the great weather today we started at the Dülmen-Nord leisure facility, where there is good parking.
The tour took us over Velen, Heiden and Kleinreken past the fish ponds back to Dülmen. There are also various places to stop for a break in these small towns.
The route leads almost exclusively on asphalt back roads on which there are hardly any cars. Long stretches lead over shady, lightly wooded roads. A dream tour that we will surely repeat.
Reiner 👋🏻 you can also do the tour with us again 👍.

Finally the weather we all hoped for! 🌞🌡️Weekdays I like to drive along the Ruhr, because the bike path is not that overcrowded. Since I don't like to take the same route back, I am looking for new ways back to Wengern.
Otherwise south via Ergste and / or Berchum. But that's not so nice compared to this route. This time north of the Ruhr on forest paths through the Dortmund area.
The return trip was very nice, first through Holzwickede and then a lot of forest paths to Syburg. There was the reward in the form of the great descent to the Hengsteysee. Then it went back to Wengern along the temporarily reopened sea route. 👍🌞🌞🌞

A short walk around our local mountain, and today I have fun with the many little flowers along the way. In particular, the inconspicuous, small but extremely pretty Gamander Speedwell was crouched in large numbers between the willow stakes today.
Happy Pentecost to all Komootlers 🖐️
