About Eberhard

The weather invited: 🌞 and initially almost no wind. Cycle along the Baltic Sea and in the provost 😉, linger in the sunny Baltic Bay at the Italian Casa Tripaldi. In the provost, I noticed that there will be a lot of rapeseed fields to be seen again next year.

Sometimes a little bike tour into the city center of Kiel - over the old Levensauer high bridge to Altwittenbek - to the Kiel Canal, canal crossing with the Adler I - along the keel line with the Port of Kiel to the Hörn. Back through the "Kieler Lunge" with the nature reserve at Tröndelsee.

Today's bike tour went through part of the Barkauer Land. Our goal was the Bothkamp nature trail. lehrpfad-bothkamp.de. Sieki accompanied us at some stations, including at the cattle pond. It went back over Bissee, along the Bothkamper See, to the Steendiek Stud in Schönhorst. Then via Kleinfintbek, Meimersdorf back to Schwentinental.

Also this year a windjammer parade took place as part of the Kieler Woche 09/2021. The weather forecast didn't look so good. So no real photo weather and unfortunately with 🌧️ on the way back. Still to the Kiel Fjord and see. The Alexander von Humboldt (with the green sails) led the field with the traditional sailors again this year.
We accompanied the parade from Möltenort to Marina Baltic Bay in Laboe.

From Strande on the Fördewanderweg along the Strander Bay to Bülk:
      ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Conveyance trail
beautiful route with a unique view of the Strander Bay, the Kiel Outer Fjord and the Kiel Bay.
      ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strande Sculpture Trail
As part of the Sculptures by the Sea project, five were created directly on the funding path to the Baltic Sea
Large sculptures made of Corten steel by Jörg Plickat were put up. The free exhibition, which is accessible to everyone, can be seen from 06/2021 to summer 2021.
      Info: sh-kunst.de/?s=Strande
⭐⭐⭐ Sculpture by Isabel Lange "After Bathing"
Corten steel sculpture donated by the artist in 2020. It enriches beaches, exudes joie de vivre and satisfaction.
      Info: sh-kunst.de/?s=Strande
      ⭐⭐⭐ Stone cabaret
Great idea over a length of approx. 150 m to build up an animation for every hiker to take part in stone towers.
⭐⭐ Kiel Week 2021, sailing regatta
When there was little wind, unfortunately only 2 regatta fields could be seen in the distance. One of them in front of Schilksee and
the other on the outer lanes of the Kiel Fjord.
Unfortunately, the regattas could only be seen in the form of the silhouettes of the sailing boats.
I skipped the port of Strande once.

When it is Kiel Week, we go to the Kiel Fjord to experience the flair and the sailing competitions. We did a little lap along the Kiel inner fjord. During the crossing from one bank to the other, we were able to observe a tactical competition between 4 race yachts on the Kiel inner fjord.

After the forest tree nursery, I still had an hour to catch the evening mood on the keel line.
Air 20 degrees, the fjord like a duck pond, wonderful ambience on the Reventlou meadow and the Reventlou bridge. Blankets were spread out, fed and drank in moderation.

A visit to the Botanical Garden in Kiel is worthwhile at any time of the year. Around 14,000 plant species are cared for and cherished in the BoG. Show greenhouses (currently closed due to Corona) complete the offer of the Kiel University's Botanical Garden. A small adjustment is made every year, so the botanical garden always remains attractive. We could still see a blooming lotus flower, 4 weeks ago the large lotus flowers filled an entire greenhouse, impressive. In front of the greenhouses in Asia, there is a little holiday feeling, palm trees and the flowers and benches to linger.Who is in the mood for more:
Some tricks can also be admired in the garden:
The garden is freely accessible to everyone and can be viewed from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (the side gate closes at 5:45 p.m.).

With an air temperature of 23 degrees, summer came back briefly in August 2021. Therefore we made a bike tour along the Baltic Sea resorts and in its agricultural hinterland.
At the St. Jürgen church in Grube we started into the hinterland of the Baltic seaside resorts. We had small scenic and cultural attractions. The Cismar Monastery was one of them. In the hinterland of the Baltic seaside resorts there are also paths that are only intended to be used by hikers and cyclists (great).
When we arrived at the beach in Bliesdorf, we enjoyed the wonderful view over the Baltic Sea. Unfortunately, the Kagelbusch campsite (private) blocks the direct continuation of the journey along the Baltic Sea. Therefore, it went over the estate of Albersdorf down to the steep coast from the Baltic Sea to the Ostseebad Grömitz (marina, pier). On the Landesschutzdeich you have a clear view of the Baltic Sea and the dune landscape in front of it as far as the Ostseebad Kellenhusen. We followed the direct route on the Baltic Sea to the Dahmeshöved lighthouse, via the Dahme seaside resort to the Oldenburger Graben. Unfortunately, now means saying goodbye to the wonderful summer tour and back to Grube.

The Schwansen landscape is a peninsula in Schleswig-Holstein between the Schlei and Eckernförde Bay, in the northeast to Kappeln and in the south to Eckernförde. We have taken on the middle part of Schwansen.
We started in Loose, past goods and estates Erichshof, Gut Saxtorf, Gut Hörst, Gut Büchenau, DAT OLE ZIMMERTER SPRÜTTEN HUUS, the beautiful route Uhlenholz to Gut Krieseby and Gut Marienhof.
At the Schlei we passed through the place of beauty in white and to linger, Sieseby. At the open loop it went on to Gut Bienebek, inland to Gut Maasleben past Söbyer See to Gut Grünholz (currently not accessible, construction site) and Gut Damp with the Kuhhaus.
When the weather arrived in Damp, we changed our bike tour and are right along the Eckernförde Bay with little adventures (single trail, steep coast of Waabs, down over a small secured natural stone staircase with flat shoulder to Langholz, a small section to push on the beach and the "path through the woods") to Gut Ludwigsburg for a long rest and then back to Loose. If you feel like it, you should use the wide sandy beach at the Ludwigsburg campsite for a swim.
My cell phone battery with komoot navigation (heavy power consumer) was at the end in Damp. Thus, a GPS file was transferred from Bosch to the surrounding area to komoot at an average of 9.8 km / h instead of 17.5 km / h. I'm still looking for a suitable solution.
