Bei dem angekündigten sonnigen, aber sehr kalten Wochenendwetter soll es deshalb ein Wanderweg sein, der viel Licht und wenig Schatten (Wald) bietet und trotzdem attraktiv ist. So fällt die Wahl auf den Premiumwanderweg Schächerbachtal bei Homberg/Ohm. Bei klirrenden -6°C geht es ab Parkplatz Stadthalle durch Wiesen und Gärten zum Waldrand und tatsächlich müssen wir gleich zu Anfang auf ein Stück des Weges durch den Wald verzichten, da Treibjagd. Aber bis auf das eine gesperrte Stück, können wir den Weg "unter Todesangst" komplett laufen. Feldwege sind ja nicht so mein Ding, doch dieser Weg bietet jede Menge Abwechslung mit kleinen Weihern, Schluchten, spannenden Bachquerungen, Heckentunnel und Panoramen auf vor Eis glitzernden Wiesen. Am Ende noch die Homburger Altstadt, die Stadtkirche und das Schloß besichtigt, bevor wir uns in einem süßen Café neben dem Rathaus aufwärmen.

Weiß nicht wie oft ich im Heidelberger Schloß war und mir die Führungen gespart hatte. Heute kam ich nicht drumrum - nach Sekt, Kaffee, Spundekäs, Brezel und San Sebastian Torte (bei klirrender Kälte) - gab's eine zweistünde Führung durch das Schloß on Top. Alles in ein nettes Geburtstagspaket (lange her, heute eingelöst) verpackt - inkl. Abschluss im Restaurant. Toller Tag bei Topwetter.

Fast schon Tradition, die jährliche Bergpark-Runde Eppstein, diesmal um ein Bachtal und den Bahá'í-Tempel Langenhain erweitert. Doch die Ausbeute in Punkto Variation ganz gut, wenn auch nicht viel. Dafür schöne Trails, tolle Aussichten und ein bisschen Spiritualität in netter Gesellschaft. Mal was anderes, als hier immer auf zwei Rädern runterzuballern.
