On the sixth stage, the landscape of the Hegau shows its most beautiful side. Not only do you hike over rolling meadow hills, but also visit two castles on steep volcanic cones. In Engen begins your sixth tour on the crossroads Freiburg - Lake Constance. You follow the path out of the city and then wander across the wooded slopes of the Hohenhewen further south. After passing the village of Welschingen, you will continue on the crossroads through endless fields and meadows. On a loop it goes around Weiterdingen and then up to the view at Hegaukreuz. Take a break here and enjoy the scenic view.Next stop is the castle ruin on the conical Mägdeberg. From the wall you also have a great view of the surrounding landscape - especially on the Hohenkrähen, on which there is also a ruin. The crossroad leads you directly to the neighboring Hohenkrähen and if you like, you can also climb up to the castle here.Afterwards you cross a wooded ridge and surround the mountain of the fortress ruin Hohentwiel. If you can not get enough of castle ruins, then visit the fortress here.Otherwise, you just continue your hike directly and reach your stage goal singing a little later.Just like on the fifth stage, today's hike makes it hard to stop. Pick up some food and pick your favorite place to rest along the way.
