Where else can you take a separate dedicated bikepath into the heart of huge container port? If you are a sailor you could actually commute into Rotterdam while on shore leave. Although it would be quite a workout, especially after having worked so hard with your upper body for so long on ship, without giving the legs a chance to let them do their stuff. On a Saturday i say maybe 50 cyclists, fairly evenly divided between racing types, and couples on tour to the beach, which is on the opposite side of the industrial facilitues. The two areas are nicely divided by a big dune, which is also the course of the main bike path.
