      Hohensyburg the second attempt.
The super varied tour in terms of the road surface and the inclines. Recommended for MTB because there are many wild forest paths in between, preferably with an electric drive, because the inclines are tough.
And I also managed to climb the mountain without a breakdown. But in the wonderful autumn weather. With the winter dream, coffee☕️ and rolls 🍔 in the backpack 🍔 nothing could go wrong 😉 It started with a crisp 4 degrees and fog over the ranch in Hochlarmark City ... then pure ☀️-glow including a beautiful sunset over the canal the return trip. In between a lot of castles, 🏰 and castle ruins ... I didn't expect to discover so much on this tour. The ruins near Witten in the thick fog and the Bladenhorst moated castle at dusk were the highlights for me and of course Hohensyburg ... even the kiosk was open ... on Monday😳 ... I was looking forward to it ... 😀🍺

Originally supposed to be a great autumn tour 🍂🍁 at 20 degrees to the Hohensyburg ⛰, but then ....... at the end of the Erzbahntrasse 🛤 in Bochum, the bike has let me down Freil The freewheel has given up the 👻, turned freely backwards as well as forwards. Fortunately, the electric motor dragged me home 20 km. It was really funny how a moped drove. One call to NCM and the spare parts are on their way 📦, so the tour will soon be repeated.
A sad picture at the Erzbahnbude when everything is so empty but hopefully that will change again. 😀

This time I dared to go to the Rhine 🌊 and that directly from home.
Actually a great route, first along the canal, then various cycle paths in forests and parks to the Rheinweg, which is really great, only very windy. Back on similar paths, very little street and the super cycle path RS1. 🛣
Since I was thinking of wishing for a Gravel racing bike from the Christ Child for Christmas, I wanted to try it out without driving the electric motor.
The first 70Km were okay too, it was a bit difficult, but the bike is like a Porsche Cayenne. With the engine really fast but without it you can't push the 3 tons. In any case, when the headwind on the Rhine set in, I thought to myself: "Fuck ...... gravel, engine on and looos ..." 🚴 Now we are good friends again 👬 me and my bike. I washed the dirt off him, oiled the chain and we're looking forward to the next tour together

Should actually be a quiet train route tour🛣 over the Balkantrasse ..... but then I have built in the Schloss-Burg🏰, which is an absolute highlight, the Hammertal and here and there a shortcut through the forest ... 🌳🌲
My companion was pissed off, I think he'll never go with me again. 🚴 🚲
To evaluate the tour, I'll put it this way ..... Without MTB it wouldn't work so well, without "E" either, and there were quite a few stretches of road. Some even drive a lot. The worst idea was to drive through Remscheid City, because there you share the bike paths either with pedestrians or with cars and what feels like 100 traffic lights that are always red ... The Balkan terrace itself is a dead straight asphalt road with no ups and downs. ... You can collect kilometers there, set speed records, because there is actually nothing to see, except the Burscheider train station, which is now a beer garden 🍻, could be entered as the destination 😀 ... otherwise ... it was nice .. . in the forest. 😂

Blankenstein Castle🏰, over the railway lines, Kemnader See the Springorum cycle path ... is always a pleasure. Of course, it's a lot more fun in summer, especially the part of the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path that you ride. But even in autumn, when it stays cloudy almost the whole time, like today, you have to go out.aus For that, repetitive tours are quite good because you already know what to expect. In the afternoon the sun came out briefly and I was able to take a few colorful photos Fotos.
From experience I already know that you should take your coffee ☕️ and provisions 🍔 with you on Mondays, because many restaurants have their day off. But we were lucky at the Kemnader See, because a beer garden was open and so the day came to a happy end. 🍻

Actually a pleasant, varied tour, also in terms of the weather, 🌦 which mainly leads over cycle paths, forest and field paths, canal cycle paths and back roads.
The highlights besides nature on the way are the historic old towns (Werne, Lüdinghausen) The waterfall in Werne an der Lippe. The Vischering Castle in Lüdinghausen. But above all the Nordkirchen Castle and the huge garden with a lake are a must-see. Guided tours are offered there and there is also a restaurant in the castle.
The road surface was not so comfortable on some sections, so I recommend the route for MTB and tracking bikes. Anyone looking for a picnic under the roof will have to look for a long time, because I only saw one in Olfen, but the bread was already eaten by then 😉

I recommend the tour to racing cyclists🚴 and all those who want to comfortably do kilometers. 😏
So, and to answer the question how I plan my tour in the rainy week. The first thing I do is choose a day that is as dry as possible 🌤and go to where the weather is best that day. 😉
This is how I chose the tour on the banks of the Rhine this time. ⚓️🛶
Started in Duisburg, we took Linn Castle with us. The castle itself is pretty nice, but we didn't go inside. Then we continued on the beautiful, flat, wide cycle path 🛣to Düsseldorf mit with the goal of "Hammer Blick" which was a failure, because the beer garden🍻 with the Hammer Blick was closed. The way there from the media city was not pleasant. It was closed along the banks of the Rhine and there was no cycle path in the city, trucks without end ... 🚛🚚🚴🚌🚙🚴‍♂️🚕🚒 not good.
However, you have the awesome view much earlier, from the Rheinkniebrücke ⛩ to the promenade and the longest bar in the world ... we made that our new goal and ate very well there, 🥙🍲🍨🍻 with one of those something of hammer view of the Rhine. 😀👍
We spent so much time there that some ships came back from their voyages 😂
Back over a super paved racetrack past ruins🕍 directly into the factory town 🏭Duisburg, where our Beetle🚗 was waiting for us.

Because it was so beautiful last week, we planned the next tour around the lake in exactly the same way. This time the Biggesee caught it, which was absolutely the right decision on the right day. Pure sun, 25 degrees, cold drinks, very tasty waffles in the boathouse. but above all very, very beautiful nature and great bike paths. Some of the climbs were very tough, but made it on an e-bike with a big smile on your face. Otherwise highly recommended, also for racing cyclists, it is a pleasant route.

"The most beautiful tour that we have ridden together" says my father and it is actually a beautiful area. We deliberately slowed down the pace so that we didn't miss anything. Very varied, sometimes mountains, sometimes flat, sometimes by the lake, through the forest, then back along the river. The many different restaurants, from snack bars to restaurants, Bickertreffs, beer gardens and ice cream parlor ... you can't stop that often and most of them are even open on Mondays. The heat of 30 degrees didn't bother us because of the wind, but as soon as you stopped, the soup ran down immediately. On the other hand, a cool blonde helped (of course without alcohol)

A tour that was different than I thought. You cannot pass the dam because construction works 🏗 until the end of October. The road was often rocky and difficult. Signposted cycle paths that were actually streets that you had to share with the cars. The Ruhr has rarely been seen ..... the most beautiful section of the Ruhtal cycle path is the one around the corner from Essen-Hattingen
