Bis heute kommt der von Bergleuten jahrhundertelang durchwühlte Untergrund im Städtchen Kupferberg nicht zur Ruhe. Er ist durchlöchert wie ein Schweizer Käse. Immer wieder tun sich neue, unbekannte Hohlräume auf. Die Einheimischen sind längst daran gewöhnt, dass hin und wieder ein alter Stollen unter ihren Füßen einstürzt.
