A beautiful path led me today along to below the Vogelloch. The rocks were very impressive.
A fallen tree unfortunately forced me to turn back.
On the way home, I made a short stop in Ermhof. The former St. Martin's Church, which was demolished in 1979, was a largely late Carolingian church building and

Actually, I wanted to go to the two caves (Vogel- und Franzosenloch) today. Unfortunately, I only discovered the turn-off on the way back. But by then I had already "warmed up" too much to visit the two caves.

Magnificent paths in an equally beautiful forest. The temperatures, well...
The path leads past the Zinnberg mine shaft to the Windloch.
The Windloch, the former entrance to the Maximiliansgrotte, is located 26m above the Leißnerdom.
This cave contains Germany's largest stalactite.

On the way home from Pegnitz, I made a short stop in Michelfeld and visited the very worthwhile former monastery church. The former Benedictine abbey is today an institution of the Regens Wagner Foundation.

Even though the herons flew away when I arrived, it was nice to observe the insects and dragonflies. I last saw so many horseflies in my childhood.
I observed the fox on the way home before Ballertshofen.
PS: In Kastl, I noticed that komoot was still running.

It was so beautiful to watch the waterfowl with their young.

Today, neither the black stork nor the herons were visible. Instead, I observed a lot of insects and dragonflies.
It was, as it could be otherwise, "simply" beautiful...

Today we visited the Hülle at Waller. The frog concert, which could be heard from afar, was a delight. Nearby are some interesting sinkholes.

A very beautiful area. The drive alone offered wonderful views.
Unfortunately, the rooty paths (as wonderful as they are) were not passable for me.

I was very happy when I discovered the black stork among the herons. The stork and the herons seem to get along well. They only took off when a group of cyclists rode past.
Because there was almost no wind today, the insects were easier to photograph.
A kite was also circling over Lauterach.

As we drove past the fish ponds in Lauterach, we were very pleased when we spotted the black stork among the herons. As soon as we stopped, the herons and the black stork took flight and flew away.
But the walk into the side valley was very beautiful, even though there were quite a few cyclists around

No matter where, the Lauterachtal is beautiful everywhere.
On the way back, I naturally had to stop and get out at "my" herons in Lauterach. To my great delight, the black stork was also back.

A beautiful, quiet dry valley that leaves the Lauterachtal near Lauterach. The path leads past many rock formations.
The former Amberg-Lauterhofen railway line also ran here.
PS: On the way there, I only saw the ears of a hare hopping away in the tall grass. On the way home, a fox fled into the Grafenbucher Forst.

Even though it was very humid today, it was a nice little walk. Herons and ducks sat on the bank of the fish pond (I stopped counting at 25 herons).
A Peacock butterfly showed a lot of interest in my camera. I've never had a butterfly so close to my lens before. It sat still and quiet on the lens hood
