Less than 40 minutes by train from Karlsruhe, the spa town of Bad Herrenalb, not only with wellness and good food, but especially with the wild nature of the Black Forest. From the train station, head southwest to the ascent to Bernsteinfels at 693m. On the way there you circle the Botten, Renn- and Bauzenberg until the observation deck of the Amber Rock comes into view. From here you have a fantastic view over the northern Black Forest.Continue past a small fountain to the Wasenhütte, which marks the historic border between Baden and Württemberg and invites you to take a break.Once again it goes uphill and once again you can enjoy the view over the Albtal before you get back on the north side of the mountain range back to the starting point.
