Great Pohlshorn

Highlight • Viewpoint

Your long climb to the Great Pohlhorn will be rewarded with a great view of the wooded area. Especially in autumn, when the deciduous trees turn yellow between the conifers, the viewpoint is worth a visit.

Great Teichstein

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Teichstein is one of the real insider tips of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. There are hardly any people there because the mountain is not widely advertised. The entrance is inconspicuous, but the view is magnificent.

March 29, 2025,🚶🏼‍♂️🚶🏼‍♂️🚶‍♀️🚶🏼‍♂️🥾 Wanderung über Arnstein, Kleinstein und die Pohlshörner zum Teichstein
Relatively spontaneously, we arranged to meet up again for a hike in Saxon Switzerland 🇨🇭. The goal was to catch garlic trout 🧄🐟 at the Buschmühle 😅... well, and sort of a tour around it.

It was quickly found. There were three hills to climb, so to speak. Once north of the Kirnitzsch ⬆️ to Arnstein and Kleinstein, and then …

The man wanted to go to Sebnitz, to the model railroader's paradise... and once you're in the corner, you can stretch your legs for a moment. 🙃

Whaaaaat??? That was only 11 km? It felt like 25 km! The elevation completely wore us out. And again, there were more stairs on the route than expected. But there were great experiences and climbing sections, beautiful enchanted paths and veeeery delicious cake in Neumanns Mühle.

Today we went to the frosty Kirnitzschtal. Lots of sunshine, but temperatures just around 0°C, which only attracted a few people. warm in the sun, but caution was advised in the frozen areas, as it was quite slippery in places.
From the Neumannmühle car park we went over the Arnstein to the Kleinsteinhöhle. Then to the Pohlshörern and back via …

It was beautiful again. In this weather you just had to get out. This time I had my spikes with me. I needed them three times. Among other things on the completely icy climb. The climb to Arnstein was also a lot safer this way. The small steps carved into the sandstone block below the stairs offered little grip due …

Small Polshorn - Large Polshorn - Kanstein - Arnstein - Kleinstein

Back home today (with Lina):
The start was at the free (!) hiking car park at Sturmbauers Eck.
Because we wanted to save ourselves the stretch along the road, we "through" the Saupsdorfer Bach and then up the Brandheideschluchte. On the painter's path over the small and large Polshorn …
