It's a steep 300m climb to the Crucifixion Chapel. Then a beautiful mountain path leads through forest and fields. The basilica in Gößweinstein is worth seeing. The castle is well preserved and you have a beautiful view from up there. The way back is usually a narrow, slightly undulating hiking trail through the forest about 40m above the road.
