La Concha Beach

Highlight • Beach

It is one of the most beautiful and emblematic beaches in Spain because of its unique shell shape (hence the name), because of the green mountains that surround it and because it is right in the center of San Sebastián.

Old Town

Highlight • Settlement

It is the true social center of Donostia. It is located at the foot of Mount Urgull and is one of the best places to taste the famous pintxos in the numerous bars between cobbled streets.

To finish off the tour, we took a stroll through San Sebastian.

Now we also have rain capes 😅

I can't quite follow it. The crescent-shaped bay and the beach are great.
The much-praised promenade behind it is a stone track without trees and charm. It slowly gets prettier towards the old town.
The highlight for me are the Pintxos Bars. The Basque version of tapas, but usually a bit more elaborate and creative. The name comes from the …

Donostia-San Sebastián is one of our favorite cities in Spain, and especially in the Basque Country!

We just can't drive past it.

And the magnificent sculptures Peine del Viento by Eduardo Chillida must also be seen every time we are there. They belong just as much as the Pintxos in the old town.

On May 3rd, San Sebastián was the 1st stop of our trip to Spain…. At that time the weather was cloudy and windy. Nevertheless, for us it has become one of the most impressive cities in northern Spain. Now, towards the end of the trip, San Sebastián is also the last destination in Spain…. this time in sunshine!

Our hike along the beautiful La Concha Bay began with a slight disappointment: access to the magnificent sculptures Peine del viento (Wind Comb) by Eduardo Chillida was closed... construction site 🚧... even for pedestrians! I still managed to sneak in a photo from my last visit two years ago.
