Today we went to Weltenburg Monastery in beautiful sunshine and with a bright blue sky.

In the museum, alone with my wife, we learned a lot of interesting things about the monastery, the Benedictines and their monastic life. (highly recommended)

We had a delicious cake and a beer in the monastery garden.

The first part ran over the dike of the Altmühl, then we drove over the Danube. From here we followed …

Unfortunately, this tour wasn't a particular highlight. 80% of the route is a cycle path, but the landscape is mostly quite monotonous.
The Weltenburg monastery is, in our opinion, quite nice, but it was very overcrowded. We recommend a hike from Kelheim on the left side of the Danube. There is a wonderful viewpoint above the monastery and the Danube. …

Weltenburg Monastery is beautifully situated – a visit to the church is a must. It's simply fantastic inside – pause and give thanks for so much …
