The Walburgis Chapel, which was first mentioned around 1350 and was built in its present form in 1697, probably gave the mountain its name. The bronze statue of Saint Walburga, …

Nice view of the "Steinerne Frau"

Highlight • Natural Monument

Nice view of the Stone Woman. Unfortunately, the view from the sign is somewhat obscured by the trees. If you walk a few meters to the left, you can see it much better

After the first steep section there is a summit cross with two benches on the foothills. The view over the vast country is fantastic and Kirchehrenbach is at your feet.

December 26, 2024,Walberla Runde ab Schlaifhausen Wanderparkplatz
This route is very sunny and therefore also beautiful in winter. However, there are a lot of people out and about. You should not go when there is snow or ice, as it is partly steeply up and down.

Today I took advantage of the golden October weather again to go for a walk around the Walberla.
Of course I wasn't the only one who had this idea.
I walked the sculpture path back, which I walked for the first time today - it's worth it.

Something completely different and quite clear: we should do it more often.

From the hiking car park in Kirchehrenbach via the sculpture trail to Schlaifhausen and up to the Rodenstein. Magnificent view of the chapel - always beautiful. Then the last few meters of altitude and a picnic on the bench. The Walberla almost to ourselves. On the …

Despite light rain and limited visibility, a beautiful path with 2 former fellow pilgrims.

A fantastically beautiful tour from Schlaifhausen up to the Rodenstein. From there, it's over to the Walberla. Stunning views. You're not allowed to cycle or leave the marked trails. Enjoy the view up there, the time, and the atmosphere. The descent on the small path was very interesting. However, it can be very overgrown in summer, and the end is …

We were not alone, but there is also a lot to see there. On the Sculpture Trail (skulpturenweg-walberla.de/) there is for example the @Silberhex 😇😎. From the two Ehrenbürg peaks there are beautiful far-reaching views. .. and to finish, we were supplied by the Elch Brau- und Brennerei (elchbraeu.de/)

My first autumn hike this year! And since autumn is just getting started, the Walberla is a natural choice.
The panoramic view of the increasingly colorful autumn forests and the view from below over the mountain slopes towards the mountain are an experience.
The hike up is strenuous for a while, but once you reach the top, you're quickly rewarded …

I'm still here 😅 Out and about today with Birgit ❤️, up and down, partly through muddy forest 🥾, enough water in the ground everywhere 👍 On the way home there was a coffee break at Beck's ☕🍰
