Hiking Highlight
The "Walberla" is probably the most famous mountain in Franconian Switzerland. Officially called the witness mountain Ehrenbürg and divided into the 532m high Rodenstein and the 512m high Walberla. Already around 1000 BC BC, the Walberla was settled by the Celts. The remains of the fortifications are still recognizable today. The Walburgiskapelle is first documented in 1360.

The mountain has a double summit, the north summit is the Ehrenbürg, the southern tip of the Rodenstein. Both peaks are about 750 meters apart.

The Walberla is a wonderful hiking destination in Franconian Switzerland. After the mountain has completely cleared, you can soak up a lot of sun here. On Rodenstein you also have a beautiful summit cross and below the chapel there is also a nice little cave to discover. I can give you v.a. highly recommend this round trip => via-ferrata.de/rund-ums-walberla-wandern

The Walbala is always worth a trip. For MTB locked. Sometimes you can see one or two bikers. When not much is going on.

Since prehistoric times, the spectacular mountain dominates the region and attracts people. Ignoring the "mountain of the Franks" as a tourist is not at all, even if you do not need the casserole as a local rather and above would rather have his rest.

The tour has been super nice, unfortunately we have always looked for an inn in the village where dogs are allowed

In the summer already a wonderful tour, with paved paths and also in winter, I would definitely come here again!

A visit to the Walberla is always worthwhile, no matter what the season. But please do not ride up by bike or MTB, that's not allowed.

If the hustle and bustle on the Walberla gets too big, a tour around it is a good alternative.

The way to the summit via the side paths is worth it, not so many people, nice view. Paths here are often muddy.
