Strengthened by good food at the Schloßbräu restaurant, we set off from Thurnau and drove to Niesten to the hiking car park!
Here we first descended into the village, then further down to Krassach! In Krassach, the beautiful Bärental valley begins, as it turned out! …

(with Sonja, Gabi, and Peter)
to Franconia, to the Zulten mountain,
because we wanted to go hiking there.
"Görauer Anger" - that's where we start
(sounds old-fashioned, but it's fantastic)!
We're really enjoying hiking the high-altitude trail in Franconia today!
It's still a quick one today -

Start was on the hiking car park above Zultenberg. The Görauer Anger hiking area begins right there. The Görauer Anger is a high plateau, a dry grassland steppe.
Right at the beginning we were offered fabulous far and wide views. A panoramic view to Thuringian and Franconian Switzerland. What an amazing sight.

From the Niesten castle ruins through the Bärental to the Görauer Anger. Past Krassacher and Herbstmühle, through valleys and on heights, there are numerous caves and impressive rock formations along the way.
Wonderful tour 🥰 Sheer it was.
