Kreuzbach Suspension Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

The bridge is part of the RheinBurgenWeg from Trechtingshausen to Bingen. It is well maintained and spans a valley of approx. 20 meters deep. The length of the bridge is about 50 meters. A small highlight on the hiking trail.

Rheinkrippen Oxbow Lakes

Highlight • Lake

This nature reserve is a man-made natural paradise. Narrow, easy to walk paths lead directly past oxbow lakes with beautiful vegetation and lots of ducks. We also saw water snakes here.

Binger Kribben

Highlight • Natural Monument

Very original Rheinauen, obviously a paradise for numerous birds and water animals. A lot of dead wood in the water and some huge poplars and willows create an Amazon atmosphere here on the Rhine.

December 27, 2025,Kreuzbachklamm Bingen, Teil vom Rhein Burgen Weg
A very nice hike to the Kreuzbachklamm gorge, a short steep descent with beautiful views of Bingen, the Rhine and the Mouse Tower.

A very nice tour. At first we went down the path to the forester's house Hl. Haus as it was in the description of the youth hostel. When you arrive at the bottom, there is a sign for the suspension bridge and points upwards 🙈
So we're up again. However, we would also have passed the forester's lodge on the …

A beautiful tour with alpine trails. Only to be done with hiking boots and, if you have them, hiking poles. Up above it is also great for children, as there is a suspension bridge and a nearly 100m long wooden marble run that fascinates young and old.

The joy knows no bounds when you stand sweating in front of the closed suspension bridge after a 5 km climb. There were no signs of this along the way. However, the way back via the Kreuzbachklamm is very attractive. Surefootedness is absolutely necessary here

In picture 5, the 🐖chen just decided not to go on the tour. That's why we picked it up there again in picture 67 🙈🙈🙈

Beautiful, varied hike. After you have completed the gorge down, it goes along the Rhine for a long time with a view of vineyards and castles and picturesque side arms and ponds. In a small ice cream parlor you can strengthen yourself with coffee and other things. Cross the train tracks over a bridge and head back uphill to the …

Today we did a little round from Bingen Hbf. Via the youth hostel we went up to the Prinzenkopf and in between there was always a great view of the Rhine. There is a great marble run there. Through the Kreutzbachklamm we are back to the Rhine, which currently has extremely low water.. That's frightening!! Nonetheless, the tour was fun!
