Great, natural gorge in the Binger Forest with smaller climbs, a waterfall and great views. Adventurous and idyllic - great!

Beautiful natural landscape - wild and quite challenging. No problem with children who are experienced hikers

In my opinion the most beautiful gorge far and wide. Definitely worth the visit!

This gorge has a certain claim to the person who walks through it. not suitable for beginners.

A green idyll even in the dry midsummer of 2022, how great does it have to be when the streams murmur here? A few meters of altitude on narrow trails - wonderful! The two "Via Ferrata" ladders are less dramatic than shown on the warning signs. Absolutely worth hiking!!!

Think of good shoes. Also some small climbing inserts.🪜🧗♂️

The headwaters of the Kreuzbach, in the western part of the "Sulg", cut deep into the forest area, then the position of the creek becomes somewhat flatter, until the wild and romantic Kreuzbachklamm begins about 250 meters below the Heiligkreuzwiese, which has many smaller, but also larger Waterfalls then ends at the B9. The stream flows under the road into the Rhine.
It is thanks to a city council decision in the 1930s that the site was made accessible to visit the forest farms. The path was renewed in 1967, 1973, 1986, 2000 and also in 2014, but then there were various safety-related closures.
In autumn 2017, three of the five bridges were dismantled and steps and ladder elements were installed instead. The popular hiking trail is then to be released again as a section of the new circular hiking trail, which leads from the Heiligkreuz forester's lodge via the Damianskopf and the Schweizer Haus back along the Rheinberg and the gorge to the starting point. This route requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. It is also unsuitable for hikers with older dogs

Beautiful gorge with some narrow paths on the slope. The gorge should not be attempted if you are afraid of heights.

The highlight of the gorge, which is more of a forest path, is a 3 meter high ladder that only needs to be climbed halfway and 5 iron hooves.

A very nice hike. Unfortunately the suspension bridge was closed. But all in all very nice. Sturdy shoes (preferably proper hiking shoes) and good physical condition are very important in my opinion.

The gorge does not carry any water at all at the moment, so there is no waterfall to be seen. (5/26/23)

Very nice and not too difficult ascent through the gorge

Pure idyll! Absolutely recommendable route through the Binger forest. The warning about the via ferrata sections should not be taken too seriously.
