Best Hikes to Klettersteig in der Kreuzbachklamm⛰️⛏️
Tips
  • On the signage, the references to the "via ferrata" are worded in an inappropriately dramatic way. I had to hit the ground to "dramatize" the ladder in the photo. Dogs can easily pass next door, but the whole thing is not suitable for prams...

  • The Kreuzbachklamm was repaired together with the Morgenbachtal for 180,000 euros (8/2019).
The Kreuzbachklamm requires sturdy shoes and a bit of stamina for the ascent, but there is no more storm damage (a bridge was left sawed into pieces, the path leads a few meters around it).
The "via ferrata" is easy to master and easy for dogs to bypass.
The path is not only suitable for prams.

  • Small climbing, a crampon rock and a ladder with two crampons.
Both are not very high (max. 2.5m). The rock with the crampons can be avoided!

  • Not difficult, but a great change with which you can also give children and young teenagers a feeling of "freedom and adventure" while hiking 🙃

  • This "alpine section" made us smile again. The signs "only suitable for experienced hikers", "a head for heights and surefootedness required" and "not passable with dogs" made us expect a lot. When we got there we had to laugh. It may be that older, larger dogs cannot do that, but the dogs of the hiking friends that we can think of would have found a way to the other side without further ado. And the few ladder steps weren't demanding either.
But you have to add - we have the Rabenack via ferrata on our doorstep and are used to different things when it means "climbing section".

  • I got through today without any problems in dry weather.

  • The via ferrata is easy to manage - without additional protective equipment.

  • Great via ferrata in the Kreuzbachklamm in the Binger Forest. Be careful when it is wet.
    Enjoy the nature!

  • Can be avoided by dogs and hikers.

  • Small but fine gorge with a narrow path - partly steep, partly secured with a rope.
Nice hiking section that is relatively steep and does not pose any problems with a little surefootedness. The "climbing elements" are also easy to do.
    Alpine? Well ...

  • The term via ferrata is a little exaggerated.
But a very nice path to walk partly along a slope with caution when wet.

  • Manageable when dry, but tricky when wet.

  • Cute! No via ferrata, just a ladder and a couple of irons in the wall. But generally a very nice section.

  • The Kreuzbachklamm starts shortly after the forester's house Heiligkreuz all the way down to the Rhine.
Unfortunately currently closed due to fallen trees and danger of falling. Status 06/2017

  • I walked the path from below at the beginning of November. Even though the ground was damp, it went quite well. Narrow path through the Kreuzbachklamm. The brook carried almost no water ...

  • Very nice change from a "normal" hike. Think sturdy shoes.

  • The gorge itself is not a highlight, there are more beautiful, but the way is awesome. Narrow, on the edge with climbing elements and a decent length. Super-duper

  • The Kreuzbachklamm is a small gorge of 300 meters, which is passable with the help of many bridges.

  • Nice little gorge with a climbing insert. The destroyed path through the gorge was repaired as part of the renovation of the Morgenbachtal.

  • Nice change from the "normal" hiking trail, narrow but easily accessible path.

  • The gorge is now accessible again and was repaired for a lot of money again. But you can not do it with toddlers or dogs. I added another photo from the warning board.
