The descent from the pass toward Cannobio is one of the most beautiful descents I've ever seen. Most of the road is newly paved and of top quality (absolutely fantastic for Italy without tolls).

Today was a rather quiet tour on the program. In Finero, shortly before the end of the Cannobina Valley, I finally found the local bar and of course enjoyed a caffé and a brioche. Briefly stopped at the top of the pass before it went downhill quickly to Malesco. Turn right there, cover a few more kilometers in Italy and …

A very beautiful tour across two countries. The start leads past a small swimming lake. The water is very clear but also correspondingly cold. Continuing on the Italian side, the route takes you up the mountain on very quiet roads, through small villages and beautiful valleys.
The first stage is completed in Malesco. This lovely town is a bit larger …

A couple of times a year it seems nice to go and pay homage to the maiden of Ascona, but to make the tour even more suggestive we go up from the impervious Cannobina and then descend from the tortuous Centovalli until we embrace the placid Verbano from the north ... 💙

Beautiful loop with great views. Pass not too strenous, rewarded by a long downhill to Locarno.

After Re you will be led straight over a bridge over the river, through a forest. Next time I would follow the road to malesco.

Road is newly paved for a lot of the Canobbio climb. Descent to Malesco the road is quite bad but all ok. Worth having lights for tunnels.
