Noch einmal in den Wiener Winter eintauchen, das Tauwetter hat am Nachmittag schon eingesetzt. Und wie! Der Hermannskogel ist der höchste Berg Wiens und Habsburgwarte ist der Fundamentalpunkt der österreichischen Landesvermessung - und war dies bereits in der Monarchie. Ein Navi war nicht nötig, doch es war nett, den Spaziergang aufzuzeichnen, schließlich gibt es ein paar Fotos zu teilen, die vielleicht Lust auf den schönen Wienerwald machen.

Wintereinbruch über Nacht mit 20cm Neuschnee. Wie zauberhaft der Wienerwald! Sogar Schitourspuren, das ist für die Stadt nun doch sehr selten. Ich war zwar mit meinen eher zarten Stiefletten nicht optimal gekleidet, doch der tiefwinterliche Zauber ist ein wenig feuchte Füsse wert.

Das Wetter war viel zu schön, um den Tag nur am Schreibtisch zu verbringen! Welch kluge und lebensbejahende Entscheidung! Schließlich erinnert man sich besser an die schönen Momente in der Natur als an jene im Büro. Es war ein leichte und aufmunternde kleine Runde.

Nice and easy walk through worthwhile villages. While sunny at the beginning, the views towards the lake were obstructed by a little fog. Snowdrops and primeroses already abundant.

Continued exploring the surroundings but was pretty tired today. Selected this peak because it is just barely above the snow line and expected the tour to be in the sun, which was the case. It felt like spring already. The path uphill after Caprezzo was not well maintained and partly a bit exposed given the slippery terrain, but clearly signposted. On the last bit up to the peak, there were no human traces in the snow. Perfect calm and beautiful view onto Verbania and the lake.

Above the fog is better than below! Luckily the greatest part of the tour was above, indeed. Rewarding views onto the northern part of the lake. In Verbania and further south the fog stayed all day it seems. While pretty warm in the sun already, still quite chilly in the shade and fog.

Cavandone ist ein altes, sehr traditionelles Dorf, heute Teil von Verbania. Rennradfahrer scheinen den Anstieg auf asphaltierter Straße zu lieben. Die kurze einfache Wanderung eröffnet immer wieder schöne Ausblicke mit wechselnden Perspektiven. Ein Durchgangstor kurz vor dem Gipfel war versperrt, doch der Zaun konnte recht leicht überklettert werden. Vielleicht nicht elegant, jedoch pragmatisch. Die Sonne versteckte sich gut, aber es blieb trocken.
