During the night of 22 to 23 June 1941, an RAF aircraft with six Czech crew members on board crashed in the Kostverlorenpolder near the Kanaalweg in Nieuwe Niedorp. The aircraft, the Vickers Wellington T2990 of 311 (Czechoslovak) Squadron Royal Air Force, had carried out a bombing raid on Bremen that night and was intercepted and shot down by a German night fighter on the way back. One crew member managed to jump out of the burning aircraft in time, but was taken prisoner of war by the occupying forces. The other five crew members were officially missing until recently.

Nursing home de Vijverhof, also known as the former Orphanage and Poor House, is a municipal monument in Hollands Kroon in Nieuwe Niedorp. The building, built in 1910, originally served as a shelter for the elderly and the poor. On April 5, 2022, the building was listed as a monument by the municipality under number 1210. The Westermolen is a polder mill on the Oosterweg in Nieuwe Niedorp, in the North Holland municipality of Hollands Kroon. This mill was built in 1854 to drain the Oosterpolder, together with two other mills, which were called the Oude Molen and the Nieuwe Molen. It replaced an earlier mill that burned down after being struck by lightning in the night of 18 to 19 February 1854.
