Path is open and easily accessible

You follow this idyllic path along the river Vecht. Stroll along the water, stroll past Dutch windmills and enjoy the views. Please note that part of this trail may be closed during breeding season (March 15 - June 15).

Buitenplaats Bijdorp is located on the Vecht in Loenen aan de Vecht. The main building was built around 1700 and the country estate has been a national monument since 1966. In the 20th century, various parts of the building were restored and a French garden was created.

The Nes is a former meander of the Vecht that has grown into a lake through sand extraction. In the water you can see some remaining strips of land. These are covered with swamp forest of black alder, willow and ash. Reeds, calamus, marsh and shore sedge grow along the banks. On the water you see yellow plum and white water lily.

But what exactly is the meaning of the coat of arms of Vreeland? Before the period In 1818 St. George was not yet in the picture and became the coat of arms/city seal of Vreeland always depicted with St. Maarten. The oldest known image out there of this seal exists dates from 1415.
