The Ilperveld is a water-rich nature reserve full of reed beds, marshes and countless ditches. You cannot walk freely in the Ilperveld: the area consists of vulnerable marsh and peat lands that are largely only accessible by canoe or whisper boat. There are a few boardwalks and small viewpoints on the edge, but otherwise the landscape is mainly admired from the water or via organised excursions. This protected nature reserve is a perfect place to experience the special flora and fauna up close in peace and quiet.
