This path is only nice for hiking. Cycling involves negotiating several trees that have fallen across the path and aren't being cleared.

Built around 1760/1780, this building is today the only half-timbered house in this part of Grimmen's old town, the so-called "Kleinleichnahnviertel".

Beautiful single trail along the Strelasund. You have great views of Rügen and the Strelasund.

Here in my photo there was a sign pointing to an instrument maker in the old rectory. A tuba was standing on top. The huge church is impressive even from afar with its high roof and tower. It was built in the 13th century and completed in the 14th century. It is one of the largest village churches in Germany. It has attractive furnishings. The last renovation was a good 100 years ago. Unfortunately, the train departure time in Stralsund did not allow for a thorough inspection. That is definitely on the list for the next bike tour!

Good to know, but I wouldn't call it a highlight, as you can find old cobblestone streets like this in this region from time to time. Luckily, it's usually quite easy to ride on the already worn-out sides. I would definitely avoid it if you have a racing bike or something similar.
