The Ueckermünde Zoo is known far beyond the borders of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. The facility was founded in 1962 and has continued to develop since then. What began as a local aquarium with a few additional native animals is now impressive. The enclosures for the individual animal species are spacious, and you can also come into direct contact with many of the animals. There are many enclosures worth seeing on a total of 18 hectares, which were built according to the latest zoological recommendations. The following facilities are particularly notable for their size: >Otter enclosure with regular feeding shows >Haff aquarium with several large aquariums >Walk-in budgie aviary >Mandrill enclosure >Lion gorge >Walk-in monkey forest >Walk-in deer garden >Adventure farm with old tractors >Petting zoo >Wolf enclosure All paths are well signposted in three languages. There are plenty of places to sit and there are also restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the playgrounds. In addition to the animal enclosures, you can also learn about farming many decades ago at the zoo and on the adventure farm, and little adventurers can enjoy a ride on the old tractors. A replica of a fully functional Dutch windmill can also be seen in the zoo. The zoo is easy to get to and has plenty of free parking, including for buses. Opening times: The zoo is open 363 days a year from 10:00 a.m. The zoo is only closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. High season (April 1st to October 31st) daily 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Low season (November 1st to March 31st) daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - weather permitting

The trees provide some shade and you can take another break just before the gates of Ueckermünde.

Asphalted bypass that is rarely used. Actually, the big agricultural machines drive here. Beautifully shady and you can drive to many small bays to get a view into the distance.

The lake is very quiet outside. There are many small bathing spots and a jetty. On the lawn there are barbecue areas and a few benches. In the evening the mosquitoes that are on the menu come.

The fact that something like this is called a cycle path is strong. The path is completely overgrown and very narrow. Narrow curves and bridges... that's even fun for a normal biker

The church looks through from afar and is really great. You can always see the bell tower from the Ueckerwiesen. There are some stories about the church in town.

On the site of the present church, from 1708 there was a temple also called Christuskirche. The foundation stone for the larger church was laid on March 30, 1882, and the finished building was consecrated on April 3, 1884. The name "Christuskirche" was officially given to it only in 1950. The temple was thoroughly renovated in 1989, and external lighting was installed in 1994. In 2009, the organ was renovated, and in 2015, the stained glass windows in the apse were restored

The evangelical Christ Church was rebuilt from 1882 to 1884. After 1989 the building was renovated, especially the tower, the roof and the interior plaster. In 1999 a new chime of five bells was inaugurated. The organ was restored in 2009.
