Semur-en-Auxois can be reached by a cycle path and also by the Burgundy Canal.

Nearby is Abbaye de Fontanay, which is also worth seeing.

The church of St. Thibault has been restored and is worth a detour. However, I haven't seen any restaurants in the village, I fear we will have to wait for Pouilly to find something near the canal.

Small cute village with access to Lake Armançon, There is a beach and a nautical base where you can rent a boat or a kayak. There is also a small park in front of the lake where you can take a short break.

At this point, you exit the D9 and follow the road which runs along the Canal de Bourgogne. This cycle path is very long and famous. There are several places to picnic along the canal.

Catholic church open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is reminiscent of the Sainte-Chapelle of Paris in the mid-Gothic style, but this church is a little simpler and more Burgundian.

The castle of Marigny-le-Cahouët is mentioned for the first time in 1189 when Hugues III, Duke of Burgundy, gave it to his son Alexandre, Lord of Montaigu. The castle was probably built at the beginning of this century. Over the following centuries, the castle was transformed into a fortress by its successive owners; among them the Villars, La Beaume, Avancourt and Orgemont families. Currently the Château de Marigny-le-Cahouët is a private residence and therefore cannot be visited.

The Armancon dam is a truly amazing work of architecture and the trek to the top is a pleasure.
