The wooden bridge over the Lieser River at this point has a few steps on the side (street) opposite the villa. There's no ramp (side ramp). Getting up there with a heavy e-bike is almost impossible without extra effort (removing batteries, taking off luggage, etc.). Even then, you'd probably have to use the e-bike push assist, and we haven't tried how well that works. Conclusion: Don't plan an e-bike route towards the villa that includes this bridge. PS: The opposite direction, from the villa across the Lisa River to the street, could work, but that would also be a "heavy" undertaking in my opinion. PPS: Simply carry bio-bikes up on your shoulder 😊

The historic market square in Wittlich is a small gem of art history. Opposite the Old Town Hall stands today's Hotel Well. The magnificent Renaissance building was formerly known as "Zum Wolf." Next to it is a simple 18th-century Baroque building, the former Neuerburg House. The Baroque building on the long side was built as a post office in 1753 by the Fier family. Main inspection of the Pleiner Viaduct on the Maare-Mosel Cycle Route Plein Viaduct, length 98 meters, height above valley 31 meters Unkenstein Tunnel, length 140 meters Grünewald Tunnel, length 124 meters The Pleiner Viaduct consists of a five-span arch bridge. The structure is located on the Hasborn - Wittlich section of the Maare-Mosel Cycle Route. The viaduct, first built in 1910, demolished in 1945, and rebuilt in 1953, is approximately 98 meters long, approximately 31 meters high, and 4.65 meters wide between the railings. It was built on site using reinforced concrete, and the piers, abutments, and side elevations were clad in sandstone. However, the structural concrete is exposed in the arch undersides. After the railway line was closed by Deutsche Bahn in 1984, the tracks were dismantled in 1989. Before the structure was reopened as part of the Maare-Mosel cycle path in 1998, it was completely renovated. Very beautiful viaduct, steam engines used to whistle, puff and smoke over it. Today cyclists ride over it. It's impressive what was achieved with simple and analogue means when it was built more than 100 years ago.

Unfortunately, the town of Hasborn was only served by the Maare-Mosel railway until 1988. Today, there is a beautiful cycle path on the former railway line. The stations on the line were sold and are now used for other purposes.
