Tandem Activist Jan de Goei, a widower and tandem activist, points out that tandem riders face discrimination. For example, it's difficult to park this vehicle at the station or take it to the platforms. He advocates for tandems to be used as "pool" transport: giving passersby a ride on the back to reduce traffic congestion, a practice known as bike-pooling. Not everyone is in favor of this.

In the Nagtglaslaan and the Sandtmannlaan in Naarden there are still old wooden villas. From the time of the Dutch Waterline, only wooden buildings were allowed within the firing range of Naarden, which had to be able to be burned down in case of enemy attacks so that they could not provide cover to the enemy. These are nice streets with a special past.

Naarden Fortress is one of the best preserved fortified towns in Europe and is best known for its unique star shape. Since 2021, the fortress has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Dutch Water Line. The fortress in its current form has been continuously expanded and adapted in the past. Water played a crucial role in this. It is a beautiful place for a walk or a bike or boat trip. In the Yellow Floods you can find more information about the history of the fortress, the role of water and all the activities that can be done there.

The wind swing was set up very nicely in the past. It has now been destroyed and lost by mother nature. Only remnants are now visible.
