🏘️ Platten is an idyllic wine village that is often mentioned in connection with the Moselle, but strictly speaking lies in the picturesque side valley of the Lieser – only about 4 km from the mouth of the Moselle.

The location at the Hambuchhütte near Lieser will be marked with a stele provided by the German Wine and Wine Association (DWI). The Bridge Gate of Traben-Trarbach on the Moselle River is the town's landmark and stands on the southern bank of the Moselle Bridge. Designed by Bruno Möhring as a decorative bridge closure, it has housed a café-restaurant since its construction. In the 1960s, a renovation added a gallery with temporary exhibitions.
