A lovely hike, mindfulness trail, small Kyle, bridge, and then on to Heidsmühle for a wheat beer. Wonderful in summer, also a great way to cool off!

The wooden bridge over the Lieser River at this point has a few steps on the side (street) opposite the villa. There's no ramp (side ramp). Getting up there with a heavy e-bike is almost impossible without extra effort (removing batteries, taking off luggage, etc.). Even then, you'd probably have to use the e-bike push assist, and we haven't tried how well that works. Conclusion: Don't plan an e-bike route towards the villa that includes this bridge. PS: The opposite direction, from the villa across the Lisa River to the street, could work, but that would also be a "heavy" undertaking in my opinion. PPS: Simply carry bio-bikes up on your shoulder 😊

The Roman villa of Wittlich, built between 150 and 200 AD, was inhabited during the heyday of the Trier region. It is one of the largest estates north of the Alps.

The sandstone walls in the Mundwald on the Lieser near the Roman Villa near Wittlich are striking geological formations with a reddish color. They are located on a popular hiking route and offer insights into the geological history of the region.
