The Schussen is a rather inconspicuous midland river. On its just 60 km long run between Bad Schussenried and its confluence with Lake Constance, it has no spectacular natural beauties. However, the Schussen is possibly the most interesting Lake Constance tributary, if one examines the changing history of its origins, uses and pollution.

The Schussen comes from the Eriskircher Ried and flows here into Lake Constance.

For holidaymakers as well as locals, the "Bodenseepfad" is an interesting and varied excursion destination: on attractively designed information boards you get to know animals and plants in the Lake Constance landscape. Habitat representations and landscape views lead through the diversity of the region.
