The actual tour ended today with the arrival at the Dreiländereck. Starting tomorrow, it's heading home. Let's see, I've been dealing with saddle pressure since yesterday.

Today I went on a round tour in the Thuringian Forest. On the descent on the way back, I actually froze. The gravel path consisted of a material on which the bike was constantly floating. Really unpleasant.

Today we continued with a strong tailwind to Kulmbach, partly again on the EV13. We made a stop in Coburg for a meeting with an old acquaintance.

I dodged the Rhön, shame on me. I'm gnawing at my training backlog this year, before my vacation I only did one longer tour. But I will make up for it during a short vacation. Nevertheless, the path along the Werra was beautiful again.

I was at the Werra in 2019, back then downstream. The development of the cycle paths since then is fantastic. Today the wind was no longer so strong, so progress was fast.

In terms of surfaces, today was a complete contrast program compared to yesterday. Almost exclusively the finest asphalt. Only the climbs and the strong westerly wind slowed things down.

The EV13 is truly mercilessly true to its program. The route beats you over sections that you can't ride. I've never had to accept an average speed of 11 km/h on such a long route. So that the vacation doesn't end before I arrive in Hof, I'll probably have to "soften" the upcoming routes a bit.

This morning there was no hotel breakfast and therefore I left early. The surfaces of the designated cycle paths are sometimes quite rough, especially for a loaded touring bike. Komoot then sent me via a path today, not marked as a cycle path, which was unrideable. Surely no one has been there for years

Today too, I couldn't convince my Garmin to do its job. Luckily, the Smartie isn't as fussy. I started this morning with slightly heavy legs. But gradually the muscles warmed up. The super beautiful weather certainly played its part. The landscape along the Elbe rarely changes and doesn't give the feeling

The Komoot integration into Garmin somehow causes more problems than it provides benefits. Maybe I'm the problem because I don't get it. In any case, I completed the 2nd part of the tour with the Smartie. I am always amazed at how deserted it can be in Germany.

Deutsche Bahn worked perfectly today. Departed on time from Stuttgart and arrived in Hamburg with a 6-minute delay. The train to Travemünde was packed, not least because it was split in Lübeck. Of course, I sat in the wrong half at first.

I had wanted to use a tropical full moon night for a tour for a long time. Unfortunately, the moon wasn't as high in the sky as I thought. Therefore, it was quite dark. But at least I avoided the heat of the day...

Today I had the impression again that the people who draw a cycle path on the map have never actually been there. NOT EVERYONE RIDES A MOUNTAIN BIKE!!! Otherwise, it was full throttle, despite the heat, no shade and headwinds.
