    Hiking

The Red Slope lies between Nierstein and Hakenheim. The Niersteiner Rote Hang gets its name because of its red rock layer. Red clay and sandstone characterize the red slope. Between Nierstein and Hakenheim they form the heart of the very special wines in this area. White wine makes up the majority of the red slope. Riesling and Silvaner are the most common grape varieties here.

    Hiking

An old wine press is erected here as a memorial. This includes the description of the Rotliegend, which includes several special vineyards on the steep slope of the Rhine.

The “Rote Hang” in Nierstein is, by the way, one of the most important “terroirs” for wine worldwide.
