In 2008, the extensive track system of the former Seebrugg freight station was threatened with demolition. The 3-Seenbahn e. V. interest group, founded in the same year, was able to prevent this and finally completely rehabilitated the tracks in 2014. The site is to be developed into an open-air museum and represent the typical terminus of a branch line from 1945 to 1960.[5] The association also runs regular special tours with historic steam trains from Seebrugg.
