This point is nice to see the smaller peaks, such as the Grohmanns- and Fünffingerpitze, but the Marmolada on the opposite side is also impressive. The more unknown peaks, such as Zahnkofel, Innerkofler Tower and of course, are also visible on the further path the Plattkofel itself.

The mountain group of the Sassolungo between the Val Gardena and the Alpe di Siusi area is arranged in a mountain range that opens up in a northwesterly direction and has a kind of "courtyard". It was formed about 230 million years ago. The "stone town" in the direction of the Sella Pass, which is characterized by its rich flora and fauna, is known here. The massif consists of the following mountains, named clockwise: Langkofel (3,181 m above sea level), Langkofeleck (southeast peak of the Langkofel), Fünffingerspitze (2,996 m above sea level), Grohmannspitze (3,126 m above sea level), Innerkoflerturm (3,081 m above sea level), Zahnkofel and Plattkofel (2,969 m above sea level). The Langkofel and Plattkofel are particularly suitable for via ferrata and mountain tours and can also be circled. The highest point is the Langkofel, from which it takes its name, at 3,181 m. It is recommended to cross from the Sellajochhaus. Then it goes over the Langkofelscharte, Langkofelhütte, Murmeltier Hütte and the Jendertal to St. Christina in Val Gardena. Despite the small difference in altitude, this hike is challenging but worth it!

The Sasso Lungo mountain group between the Val Gardena and the Alpe di Siusi area is arranged in a mountain range that opens up to the northwest and has a kind of "inner courtyard". It was formed around 230 million years ago. The "Stone City" towards the Sella Pass is well-known here, which is characterized by its rich flora and fauna. The massif is made up of the following mountains, named clockwise: Sasso Lungo (3,181 m above sea level), Sasso Lungo (south-east peak of the Sasso Lungo), Fünffingerspitze (2,996 m above sea level), Grohmannspitze (3,126 m above sea level), Innerkoflerturm (3,081 m above sea level), Zahnkofel and Plattkofel (2,969 m above sea level). The Sasso Lungo and Sassopiatto are particularly suitable for climbing and mountain tours and can also be walked around. The highest point in the Sasso Lungo group is the eponymous Sasso Lungo at 3,181 m above sea level. A crossing from the Sellajochhaus is recommended. Then it goes over the Sasso Lungo saddle, Sasso Lungo hut, Marmot hut and the Jendertal to St. Christina in Val Gardena. Despite the slight difference in altitude, this hike is challenging but worthwhile!
