Between the Rosengarten and the Sella group, on the south side of the Langkofel group, where a simple shepherd's path once snaked through the mountains, there is now a spectacular high-altitude promenade. It was created by the local Alpine Club section at the beginning of the 20th century - at the request of the hiking enthusiast King Friedrich August of Saxony, who spent his summer months in Seis from 1904 to 1914. The path leads along the foot of the Plattkofel, past craggy rocks, green pastures, diverse flora and excellent views of the Marmolada with a panoramic view. A hike on the Friedrich-August-Weg is particularly worthwhile in autumn, when the light bathes the landscape in pastel tones. From the starting point, the Sella Pass, via the Salei Hut, the Friedrich August Hut and the Sandro Pertini Hut to the Plattkofel Hut on the Fassajoch, the hiking trail leads past several huts that invite you to regain your strength with South Tyrolean specialties
