The bear clock at Fürst-Leopold-Carré comes from the Kieser-Maruhn family of artists, who also left behind works of art such as the sculpture of the mother bear and her children in the zoo, reliefs depicting children at what is now the Walter Gropius Gymnasium, the "naked man" on Heidestrasse / corner of Eyserbeckstrasse or the farmer couple with foal in Dessau-Alten.
Works by the family can also be found in Dessau's cemeteries, as well as in the Resurrection and Christ Church.
