The trail from the Zugspitzplatt high to the Zugspitze is not really difficult and can be classified as a very simple via ferrata. It really does not have to be climbed at any point, but you just have to lend a hand. However, sure-footedness and a head for heights are needed. In the lower part of the rise over the gravel field is unpleasant. Further up it goes along wire ropes, the experienced mountain athlete will not need this. But many inexperienced or timorous people will be very happy with the cables.

It is clear that many hikers, who rarely make such routes, assess the difficulties quite differently. Nevertheless, the via ferrata on the scale of A to F, classified as A via ferrata and thus corresponds to the simplest category.
