From Zugspitzplatt the Zugspitze can be climbed in about 90 minutes. The southern snowman's head can be climbed in about 70 minutes.

Gröllfeld without vegetation. Shoes with a stiffer sole are an advantage. Depending on the season with more or less snowfields.

I went once in August and once in September from Ehrwald over the Gatterl to the Zugspitzplatt. Both times I was surprised by snow. So, have suitable clothing with you even in summer.

High alpine plateau with a special flair, framed by a pearl necklace from peaks such as the Plattspitze, the Wetterspitze, the Schneeernerkopf and of course the Zugspitze. An exciting and wonderful landscape! Even if the Schnee Glacier is slowly but surely revealing its last secrets. From here it is steep for the last few hundred meters up to the summit.

Impressive, actually just rock and stone. Unfortunately not much snow

Located 300 m below the summit, almost the last step before going up. Great view of the Reintal.

Here, two worlds meet each other. The cable car drivers and the hikers ;-)

Rather barren. Resembles a lunar landscape

A basically desolate area that is built up for tourism. Hikers and tourists share the area.

Very different in summer than in winter. Almost surreal that a lot of people ski and snowboard here in winter

This is a hike over the former glacier. I think there was a lot more snow and ice in the summer in 1980 than there is today. The hike is impressive and you have a wonderful panorama, which invites you to stop and take photos again and again.

It's really impressive how the building stands on the slope!

The gravel path up to the Zugspitze is exhausting at first, but the upper part of the climb is much more pleasant and a lot of fun. In addition, excessively secured with wire rope.

An exceptional view that you only see when you are on the mountain. The tour was definitely worth it for me.

The Sonn Alpin Alm invites you to linger when the weather is good. With a beer you can recharge your batteries for the ascent or recover from the descent.
When it comes to food, don't expect too much.

A trip to the Zugspitze is definitely worth it, great views that are up to 90 km in good weather.
