Best Road Cycling Rides to Hoher Schneeberg (Děčínský Sněžník)

Tips

  • The paved road is quite bumpy, so rather slow drive. The increase is challenging, with up to 18%. But the view is worth it. At the lookout there is a restaurant for e.g. a relaxed lunch break.

  • short, twice short burst (and out of the saddle) to the plateau on top of the mountain. Above then wonderful views in almost all directions, the "Dresdner view" as a small highlight. Furthermore, historic tower, Baude and restaurant, the latter with solid food. Above you can rent scooters for rolling down, which requires some consideration of all mountain visitors. On the mountain, the trails are rather bad.

  • The ascent to Schneeberg is feasible up to the Stichstraße. It will then be steep to really steep on the cul-de-sac. But not for very long. Once you have made the steep section through the rocks, it is practically only flat to the tower. There, as well as after the steepest point, you will be rewarded with wonderful views.
On weekends, numerous pedestrians and cyclists are also on their way to the tower.
